This standard is being introduced to offer an alternate method for testing moisture ingress into insulating glass units during accelerated weathering testing. Moisture penetration index is relevant to insulating glass units that have either slow moisture uptake speeds or other differences in moisture management compared to traditionally desiccated insulating glass. Users of this test will be insulating glass fabricators as well as testing laboratories.
