New Practice for the Determination of Thermal Penetration Depth by Thermal Analysis
1. Scope
The practice describes the determination of penetration depth from thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, or thermal effusivity data obtained from other methods.
Penetration depth, or some multiple thereof, is considered to be the necessary test specimen thickness suitable for surface test methods where radiation is applied at the surface.
