New Guide for The Sampling of Field and Bulk Harvest Lots of Cannabis and Hemp for Laboratory Analyses

1. Scope
This standard provides recommended procedures and protocols for sampling Cannabis and Hemp field lots. Bulk Cannabis and Hemp fields may exhibit variability within a lot, and it is critical to apply a practice that will provide statistical confidence in lot representation. Representative sampling is required to ensure that the qualitative and quantitative test results accurately reflect cannabinoid identification, potency, identification and concentration of terpenes, moisture content, water activity, and potential impurities including but not limited to trace metals, microbiological activity, mycotoxins, and pesticides.
Keywords
cannabis; hemp; analyses; sampling; field harvest
Rationale

This guide provides a methodology for securing bulk cannabis or hemp samples from large fields for optimizing the most representative nature of the samples.
