Rationale

Subcommittee E28.01 on calibration has chosen to align the definitions within the standards under it purview with BIPM Standard JCGM 200: International vocabulary of metrology – Basic and general concepts and associated terms (VIM). Three definitions are being added/modified to align with the VIM: Calibration, Metrological Traceability, and Verification. Additionally, the document has been revised to correct the use of these terms throughout the document. Note 1 was removed as the definition of Metrological Traceability in now contained with the document. Only the marked-up language shown with tracked changes is being balloted, all other sections are for informational purposes only.
