Rationale

ASTM D 7698 -21 is used for testing the density and water content on in-place aggregate base or sub-base for QA/QC during construction of shallow foundations, such as highways. The material-specific calibration of the testing equipment is performed in field on compacted aggregate base material. The standard will be revised to include a Method B laboratory calibration procedure.
