E991-11 recommends bidirectional, rather than integrating-sphere geometries for fluorescence measurement (see 5.7.1) but integrating spheres are used for measurement of fluorescent textiles and paper. A standard for the measurement of fluorescent materials using hemispherical geometries is needed. Guidance is needed for sphere-based methods.
