ASTM WK76970
Protecting Intellectual and Technical Property is especially relevant to AM practices, due to the extremely high level of Design and Process information contained in digital data prepared, exchanged, stored and consumed by our attendance. Due to the financial, legal but also health and safety related risks of seeing AM data misused, misappropriated, illegally modified or copied, the stakes for the AM community are immense. Producing a document listing the vulnerabilities to consider, the standards which may assist and mitigates said vulnerabilities, and the remaining gaps in addressing Intellectual and Technical Property for AM data would thus provide a significant service to the AM community as a whole. It is important to note that cybersecurity is a distinct subject which will not be the subject of the proposed standard.
