ASTM Committee D21 on Polishes was formed in 1950. D21 meets once a year, usually in October, with 10-15 members attending three days of technical meetings. The Committee, with a current membership of approximately 70, has jurisdiction of 45 standards published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volume 15.04. D21 has 6 technical subcommittees that maintain the jurisdiction of these standards. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in determining the characteristics and performance of raw materials, physical and chemical testing, performance, specifications and slip resistance relating to polishes.
