ASTM Committee B07 on Light Metals and Alloys was formed in 1928. B07 meets twice a year, usually in May and November, with approximately 30 members attending three days of technical meetings. The Committee, with a membership of 148 industry professionals and experts, currently has jurisdiction over 76 standards, published in September in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volume 02.02. B07 has 5 technical subcommittees that maintain jurisdiction over these standards. Information on the subcommittee structure and B07's portfolio of approved standards and Work items are available from the List of Subcommittees, Standards and Work Items below. These standards have, and continue to play, a preeminent role in all aspects important to the effective industrialization of light metals and their alloys, primarily with respect to aluminum and magnesium.
