ASTM Committee A05 on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products was formed in 1906. A05 meets twice a year, usually in May and November, with about 45 members attending two days of technical meetings. The Committee, with a membership of approximately 200, currently has jurisdiction of over 70 standards, published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volume 01.06. A05 has 7 technical committees that maintain jurisdiction over these standards. Information on the committee structure and A05's portfolio of approved standards and Work Items under construction are available from the List of Subcommittees, Standards and Work Items below. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in the protection of iron and steel products against corrosion by use of metallic coatings, and non-metallic coatings.
