Mohsen Seifi, Ph.D.

Vice President of Global Advanced Manufacturing Programs
Mohsen joined ASTM in January 2018 as Director of Global Additive Manufacturing Programs. Prior to that, he was a technical consultant at ASTM from September 2016 to January 2018. He was appointed Vice President of Global Advanced Manufacturing Programs in May 2022. Dr. Seifi is responsible for the Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE), robotics and autonomous systems programs, and various advanced manufacturing-related initiatives, leading a team of technical experts in the field.
In his role, he provides technical leadership to accelerate standardization activities across ASTM’s advanced manufacturing technical committees and spearheads new partnerships and initiatives. He also oversees the development of standards-related programs and services within ASTM’s diverse portfolios focused on critical and emerging technologies (CETs). As of January 2025, Dr. Seifi is also responsible for the U.S. Standardization Center of Excellence focused on Critical and Emerging Technologies, sponsored by NIST.
With over 15 years of experience managing and prioritizing research and business programs, Dr. Seifi brings a strong technical and business development background and has led projects funded by government agencies. He holds a master’s and PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering, with a focus on advanced manufacturing and materials behavior. He holds adjunct faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio and Auburn University in Alabama. He also serves on several advisory boards supporting major global advanced manufacturing programs.
