Mylrea joined ASTM International in 2010, and he currently serves as first secretary for the committee on petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants (D02). He also serves as vice chair for the subcommittee on sampling (D02.08); section chair for the subcommittee on flammability (D02.08.0B); and membership secretary for the subcommittee on aviation fuels (D02.J0). For his contributions to D02, Mylrea has received the Award of Appreciation (2014, 2019); James A. Thomas President’s Leadership Award (2017); and the Award of Excellence (2022, 2023). He is also an active member of the committees on paint and related coatings, materials, and applications (D01) and waste management (D34).
