The bending pin diameters listed in the table are understood by many to be the maximum allowable bending diameters. Bending around a smaller diameter pin than those specified in the table is a more challenging and conservative bend test. There are instances where manufacturers are not able to bend around pin diameters with the exact dimensions listed in the table. In some cases, a pin with the exact dimensions may not be available, or a pin may be worn and have a smaller diameter than originally designed. The proposed revision adds the word “Maximum” to allow manufacturers to bend around a smaller diameter pin those specified in the table. The superscript B in the table is also corrected to apply to the entire table.
