Revision of C1401-14(2022) Standard Guide for Structural Sealant Glazing
Rationale
Justification for the proposed revisions is to eliminate the inadvertent bias that seems to exist in the
current standard. The current standard either precludes or deters consideration of certain materials
as suitable for structural sealant glazing that should be given consideration under like criteria for
those materials that are specifically named as suitable. The standard also recommends fabrication
processes that may deter consideration of certain materials for structural sealant glazing even where
those fabrication processes may not be necessary.
