Revision of F2291-22 Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices

Rationale

We propose this revision of 5.1.1.4 (1) to replace “patron” with “rider”, consistent with current terminology usage, describing it as an “analysis” rather than an “assessment”, for consistency with the names of other listed analyses in Ride Analysis, and replacing “suitability” with “eligibility”, to formalize the terminology that has been generally used since the start of the Task Group. Description as “eligibility” focuses on determination of the requirements for a person to be eligible to participate, which can be based on the ride analysis, rather than an assessment of “suitability” of patrons already somehow identified as “intended”.
The TG asks that members vote only on the balloted language, and not the previously accepted language before and after, provided only as context. The context language is not part of the ballot.
