1. Scope
Provide standard practices for sampling synthetic turf fiber and synthetic turf fabric at a manufacturing location. Provide guidance in selecting the proper analytical technique that will provide the test results needed to meet the project objectives.

Rationale
Turf suppliers are being requested to show documentation that their products do not contain PFAS. The requests differ in the type and detail of testing needed. This standard practice provides guidance for sampling turf fibers and fabrics. The practice also prescribes analytical techniques for measuring specific targeted PFAS and a technique measuring total fluorine content as an indicator of possible PFAS content.
