1.Rationale:As a result from a negative comment from a previous ballot we have removed section 11.1.5.4 as shown below: 11.1.5.4 The extensometer grips shall be placed at a distance equal to the grip separation listed 2.The grip separation and extensometer placement has been often discussed, but never addressed. The revision to 6.1 and the addition of Table 1 addresses the standardization of grip separation. 3.Benchmarking is not required when using an extensometer and has been noted, reduces the distance for benchmarking highly elastic materials, and the extensometer placement specified (11.1.5.1, 11.1.5.2 and 11.1.5.3). Only the highlighted text is being balloted.
