New Specification for Supplementary Cementitious Material for Use in Concrete
1. Scope
1.1 This specification covers supplementary cementitious material (SCM) for use in concrete. There are no restrictions on the composition of the SCM or its constituents. 1.2 Units--The units stated in SI are to be regarded as the standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, is any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

Rationale
There is a need in the concrete industry for a means of specifying a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) for materials that do not meet an existing standard (for example, C618, C989, C1240). This ballot item is for a specification for SCMs to address this need.
