runway friction; assessment of surface friction characteristics of aerodrome runways; runway texture; runway survey

Aviation is by nature international. Standard methods for surveying airport movement areas are desired for establishing common international practices. Over the last decade, a number of new developments need to be incorporated into standards and guidance material. The users of the proposed standard will be the air transport industry and its regulators worldwide, government agencies dealing with airports, international aviation organizations, airport operators, and airport technical service companies.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
