New Guide for AMF Support for Solid Modeling: Voxel Information, Constructive Solid Geometry Representations and Solid Texturing
1. Scope
1.1 This document describes existing features for Solid Modeling support within the present Standard Specification of the AMF format and formulates propositions to further AMF interoperability with Voxel Information, Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) Representation and Solid Texturing. These propositions will essentially relay on the future provisions already listed in the Standard Specification document, and in particular provisions X.2.1.4 and X.2.1.5, and possibly (To be assessed) X.2.1.7.
A significant number of professional communities directly linked to Additive Manufacturing are using design, visualization and simulation environments relying on Solid Modeling representations. These communities include but are not limited to mechanical or biomedical engineering, finite element simulations, CAD CAM, etc
