The promotion of knowledge of the properties of carbon blacks, including stimulation of research and the development of methods of test, classifications, and nomenclature. This scope includes carbon blacks produced by the furnace process and the thermal decomposition process, but does not include ground carbonaceous material such as coke, coal, charcoals, graphite, or graphitic products. These activities will be coordinated with those of other relevant Committees of ASTM.
