ASTM WK91025
Section 10.5 of the standard, determination of tensile strength, needs clarification on which type specimens to use for testing. The required test method, ASTM D1623, lists three different options for specimen types (Type A, B, and C). Its common to use rectangular-block shaped core specimens. Feedback from the task group and the spray polyurethane foam industry also suggested that block shaped specimens were appropriate and commonly used. This ballot revises section 10.5 to clarify the specimen geometry, the direction of testing, as well as providing a minimum number of specimens that shall be tested.
