Rationale

ASTM Standard Test Method F2149 – 16 is up for its 5-year renewal. For this purpose, after reviewing the standard and researching relevant current industry technology and practice, this revised standard is submitted. The main elements of revision include: 1) Updating Section 1.4 Limitations to reflect new advances in the method for determining cell viability; 2) Updating with other technological advances in the method; 3) Updating with citations of recent reports highlighting the use of the method and estimating its precision; 4) Updating with new Referenced Documents; 5) Updating with relevant industry terminology now in usage; and 6) Minor grammatical edits.
