Rationale

The SAP Based Launcher sports activity  has grown exponetially over the last 5 years growing from a nearly unknown activity to being one of the fastest growing action sports activities today. This activity is similar to airsoft sports and therefore the F08.27 subcommittee has been following the growth in this new market. This year several manufactures and other interested groups have approached the F08.27 subcommittee with the request to assist them in the development of ASTM standards for this sport. The subcommittee has agreed to assist  this industry to begin development of their own standards with the expectation once they have developed their initial standards the group will break off it not their own subcommittee.
