Rationale

ASTM D8340 Standard Practice for Performance-Based Qualification of Spectroscopic Analyzer Systems was approved in 2020. This practice provides guidance for spectroscopic analyzers to be able to generate diesel fuel parameters at a confidence level to those of primary test methods. Therefore, inclusion of D8340 in ASTM D975 Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel is being sought.
