ASTM WK76754
New methods, commonly referred to as Rapid Methods, have emerged because traditional descriptive analysis methods are often considered too time consuming, too expensive or resource intensive. The intention of this guide is to provide recommendations on method selection while balancing resource, risk and time constraints. These methods are applicable to product screening, narrowing down samples and for preliminary development work. Many books exist explaining Rapid Methods though ASTM does not currently have any standards published on this topic. This guide will serve as an umbrella document that helps sensory evaluation professionals to choose the method that is most appropriate for project objectives so that sound and timely business decisions can be made.
