The scope of the Committee shall be to develop and maintain specifications, test methods, terminology, guides and practices for threaded, non-threaded, driven and other fasteners and fastener components, and the dissemination of knowledge related thereto. Provisions for materials, manufacturing, quality assurance, mechanical properties, classification, coatings, electroplating and inspection applicable to fasteners are included herein.

The activities of this Committee will include assistance to other Committees in developing fastener standards, and its work will be coordinated with other ASTM Committees and other organizations having mutual interests.
