Committee E36 on Accreditation & Certification

Staff Manager: Ashley Wiand

ASTM Committee E36 on Accreditation & Certification was formed in 1973. E36 meets twice a year, usually in June and December, with approximately 25 members attending two days of technical meetings. The Committee, with current membership of 225, has jurisdiction over approximately 12 standards, published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volume 14.02. E36 has 7 technical subcommittees that maintain jurisdiction over these standards. Information on this subcommittee structure and E36's portfolio of approved standards and Work Items under construction are available from the Lists of Subcommittees, Standards and Work Items below. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in all aspects important to conformity assessment, including, operation and recognition of accreditation bodies and conformity assessment entities for calibration and testing laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification and registration bodies.
