Committee B08 on Metallic and Inorganic Coatings

Staff Manager: Jennifer Tursi

ASTM Committee B08 on Metallic and Inorganic Coatings was formed in 1941. B08 meets twice a year, usually during the May and November Committee Weeks, with about 15 members attending 1 day of technical meetings. The Committee, with a current membership of 159 industry professionals and experts, has jurisdiction over 132 standards, published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volume 02.05. B08 has 10 technical subcommittees that maintain jurisdiction over these standards. These standards have, and continue to play, a preeminent role in all aspects important to the effective industrialization of metallic and inorganic coatings, inclusive of, but certainly not limited to, most aspects of electroplating, autocatalytic plating, hot dipping, immersion plating, vacuum processes, chemical conversion, anodic oxidation, and thermal coating processes, and porcelain enamel and ceramic metal coatings.
