Committee E37 Scope

Staff Manager: Stephen Mawn

Committee Scope

The scope of the Committee shall be to advance and encourage the development and application of thermal measurements by the coordination and development of standard methods of test, practices, nomenclature and definitions of thermal measurements in cooperation with other technical committees of the Society and other national and international organizations; to cooperate with organizations concerned with the preparation and distribution of standard reference materials; and to provide a forum for the exchange of information in the field of thermal measurements.

The principal areas of interest include the application of thermal analysis, rheometric and calorimetric techniques (such as thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and thermomechanical analysis) and the measurement of thermophysical properties (such as thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, specific heat capacity, and thermal expansion).
