Revision of C1582/C1582M-11(2017)e1 Standard Specification for Admixtures to Inhibit Chloride-Induced Corrosion of Reinforcing Steel in Concrete
Rationale
The use and availability of ASTM C595 Type IL cement has become more prevalent than ASTM C150 Type I cement in many markets, if not the only available cement. Type IL is currently a large portion of the cement produced in the U.S. and growing. Several of the largest cement producers in the U.S. are currently working toward 100% Type IL production. As such, this ballot item is updating ASTM C1582/C1582M to allow for its use consistent with activities in other standards within C01 and C09.
