1. Scope
The promotion of knowledge pertaining to virgin and reclaimed halogenated organic solvents, and fire extinguishing agents, including formulation of specifications, practices, definitions and methods of test.
Committee activities and standards will include the preparation of precautionary and preventive statements and suggested treatments relating to health, welfare or well-being of workers and the public, relative to the use of halogenated organic solvents and fire extinguishing agents based on currently accepted industry procedures.
Standards peculiar to electrical insulating liquids, paint thinners and non-halogenated components of admixtures normally are excluded from the scope of the Committee D26. The work of the Committee will be coordinated with other ASTM Committees and other organizations having mutual interests
