New Specification for Indirect Control Systems for Aircraft Trajectory
1. Scope
This international industry-consensus specification addresses the design of indirect control systems (e.g., “fly-by-wire” systems) that provide aircraft trajectory control. The information herein was originally created by focusing on Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 Normal Category aeroplanes; however, the content may be more broadly applicable, and the application thereof should not be unduly limited.

Rationale
This will become part of the larger ASTM Part 23 library. There is currently no central location to capture the results of the disparate fly-by-wire efforts underway; this specification is intended to consolidate this information into a usable format.
