Revision of F2291-21 Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices
Rationale
During a recent review of referenced standards at the beginning of F2291, certain items previously referenced in the Loads and Strengths sections were flagged as being out of date references or standards no longer referenced by F2291s language. This work item addresses deletion or update of these references.
• BS 5400: This was used as a reference in the appendix regarding the 2s adjustment from 50% data used in fatigue, but is currently a withdrawn standard. AISC now explicitly cites the 2s adjustment, and is a current/up to date standard. In order to remove the reference to withdrawn BS 5400, the reference is changed to the latest published AISC 360.
• EN 280: This standard name/reference is out of date. The latest version includes new sections referenced by the “A1” in the title.
Additionally, the sections which reference this annex have been previously numbered incorrectly. The main body text is being updated to match the correct section of the annex.
