Revision of D1743-21 Standard Test Method for Determining Corrosion Preventive Properties of Lubricating Greases
Rationale
The method has diagrams and instructions for setting the thrust load on the bearing spinner that are specific to a bearing spinner manufactured by a specific supplier, but it was brought to the subcommittee’s attention that other equipment exists that can otherwise meet the method criteria. A statement that other equipment exists and in that case the manufacturer’s instructions for setting the thrust load on the spinner should be followed.
Ballot History: This item was balloted previously with the use of a note, this received a negative vote due to incorrect use of a note per the form and style guidelines.
