Revision of G193-20a Standard Terminology and Acronyms Relating to Corrosion

Rationale

Due to the existence of joint AMPP (formerly NACE)/ISO standards it is desired that the terminology from both organizations (NACE/ASTM G193 and ISO8044) define terms similarly and consistently with the way those terms are defined and used in the joint standards (such as NACE MR0175/ISO15156). The major differences in the definitions in the terminology standards are for terms related to cracking phenomena, so these terms are being harmonized first. To achieve this harmonization, some terms are being balloted for change in ISO TC156 WG1 and others are being balloted in AMPP/NACE J01.02. The items in this ballot have been through a first ballot in J01.02 and this ballot incorporates information from negatives in that first ballot.
