Revision of F696-06(2019) Standard Specification for Leather Protectors for Rubber Insulating Gloves and Mittens

Rationale

Rationale: Currently we know of no manufacturer, reseller, or distributor of F696 gloves that offer protectors made from pigskin leather. We are also unaware of any known users of F696 protectors that require pigskin. Of all the available leathers, pigskin is the poorest leather for the purposes of producing F696 leather protectors. Capeskin was defined as skin from sheep that originated on the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. Now generally defined as a light flexible leather made from sheepskin. Grain sheepskin or capeskin is redundant.
