Revision of D3628-15(2021) Standard Practice for Selection and Use of Emulsified Asphalts
Rationale
Non-tracking tack coat emulsions have become increasingly common and preferred pavement bonding materials to ensure faster construction times and clean job sites across the nation. This task group was formed to include non-tracking tack coat emulsions (refer to work item #WK77559 for D977-20) as a tack coat option in the ASTM D3628 standard, which currently serves as a guide to select and use appropriate emulsions for paving and allied uses. This change, when approved, will allow the end users of the ASTM D3628 standard to be able to choose non-tracking tack coat emulsions meeting the revised ASTM D977 standard as tack coats for paving jobs.
