This is part of a general terminology clean-up within F24. The goals include: (1) to make all definitions compliant with Form and Style for ASTM Standards; (2) to eliminate conflicting, duplicative, and unnecessary definitions; and (3) to clarify the scope of definitions that are not of general applicability in F24. The term owner/operator is used in sixteen of the standards under F24 jurisdiction (to include all core F24 standards). Terminology F747 currently contains three standard-specific definitions of owner/operator, but it does not contain a definition that is applicable to most of the standards that use the term. The proposed solution is to remove all standard-specific definitions of owner/operator from F747; to remove the water slide-specific definition from F2376; to remove the trampoline court-specific definition from F2970; and to add a more generic definition to F770 and F747, which would then be the definition of record for the sixteen standards where it is used.
