Revision of D4439-20 Standard Terminology for Geosynthetics
Rationale
During the last meeting in January 2022, this term was discussed and adjusted to account for some negative votes that were persuasive.
The previous statement on the justification of need is still valid.

Historically ASTM D35.93 has avoided definitions for applications.
With the inception of subcommittee D35.06, it is critical to elaborate specifications and guides of geosynthetics in applications is needed clear terms defining what the applications are.
At the same time, ISO has defined applications in the scope of TC221 WG2 on terminology.
The intended process is to ballot accepted international terms for ISO with the understanding that normalization of terms and definitions for end-users and the community is critical.
