Revision of E2921-16a Standard Practice for Minimum Criteria for Comparing Whole Building Life Cycle Assessments for Use with Building Codes, Standards, and Rating Systems
Rationale
This is one of several proposals to update E2921 Standard Practice for Minimum Criteria for Comparing Whole Building Life Cycle Assessments for Use with Building Codes, Standards, and Rating Systems. E2921 defers to ISO 14050 for LCA related definitions available there. Impact Category is now defined in ISO 14050-2020, as follows: Impact category life cycle assessment class representing environmental issues of concern to which life cycle inventory analysis results can be assigned. To avoid redundancy, the impact category definition in E2921 is proposed to be deleted. The impact category definition will then default to the above in ISO 14050.
