Revision of E2921-16a Standard Practice for Minimum Criteria for Comparing Whole Building Life Cycle Assessments for Use with Building Codes, Standards, and Rating Systems

Rationale

This is one of several proposals to update E2921 Standard Practice for Minimum Criteria for Comparing Whole Building Life Cycle Assessments for Use with Building Codes, Standards, and Rating Systems. E2921 defers to ISO 14050 for LCA related definitions available there. Process Energy is defined in ISO 14050-2020, as follows: process energy energy input required for operating the process or equipment within a unit process, excluding energy inputs for production and delivery of the process energy itself. To avoid redundancy and conflict, the process energy definition in E2921 is proposed to be deleted. The process energy definition will then default to the above in ISO 14050.
