New Specification for In-Transit Environmental Storage Conditions of Packaged Cannabis/Hemp Flowers

1. Scope

The development and maintenance of standards and guidance materials for cannabis and its products and processes. The work of this committee will be coordinated with other ASTM committees and other organizations having mutual interest.

Keywords

Cannabis; transportation; in-transit; packaged cannabis; packaged hemp; human/animal use; shelf life; safety; quality; environmental conditions; temperature, relative humidity; degradation; preservation.

Rationale

The entire cannabis/hemp industry, from seed to the final consumer is a relatively new industry. Thus, standards for assuring safety and quality during key steps of the cannabis/hemp flowers sojourn are in order. The standard is needed to assure safety and quality of cannabis/hemp flower and will be used by purveyors who move the cured and packaged field crop to distribution to the end user.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
