Revision of F1734-19 Standard Practice for Qualification of a Combination of Squeeze Tool, Pipe, and Squeeze-Off Procedures to Avoid Long-Term Damage in Polyethylene (PE) Gas Pipe

The squeeze off of pipe is commonly used by industries other than natural gas distribution to isolate pipe sections conveying water (potable, process, storm, sewage) and other liquids and gases. This project is to add these other piping applications to the scope and body of the three ASTM standards that govern squeeze off (F1041, F1563, and F1743) so that squeeze off is defined as an applicable isolation method. Some government agencies have questioned the applicable of squeeze off for pipe conveying these other products. These changes will clarify the applicability of squeeze off for products other than natural gas.
