New Guide for Using Micro X-ray Fluorescence (-XRF) in Forensic Polymer Examinations

1. Scope

1.1This guide is intended to assist individuals and laboratories that conduct analyses of forensic polymer samples by -XRF. This guide is intended to be applied within the scope of a broader analytical scheme. 1.2This guide is intended to advise and assist the analyst in the preparation of polymer samples for -XRF, the collection of data by -XRF, and the interpretation of data resulting from these analyses. 1.3This guide describes the application of -XRF systems equipped with either mono- or poly- capillary optics and an energy dispersive X-ray detector (EDS).
