11.2 Socket strength torque test proves to be quite severe for most common torque-tension or torque equipment because the behavior of a compression joint differs from that of a tensile joint. The concern is primarily with SSS with a diameter greater than 3/4 and becomes very apparent above 1. Vendors may avoid this test to prevent costly equipment damage.
