Determination of particle size and shape of cylindrical and spherical catalyst materials. Particle shapes include singular and multi lobed configurations. Particle sizes generally range from 1000 to 10000 microns

Rationale

Analysis by non contact imaging technology can expand the process control capabilities for manufacturers of catalyst materials. In addition to particle size, imaging technology can assess particle shape which is a critical parameter of these particles. There currently are no standards covering the use of imaging analyzers for catalyst materials.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
