Revision of D1743-13(2018) Standard Test Method for Determining Corrosion Preventive Properties of Lubricating Greases
Rationale
This was originally entered as WK66189 which expired prior to actions being completed. Section 6.5, Figure 3, Section 6.6, Figure 4, Table I, and section 8.1 of the method have diagrams and instructions on setting the bearing spinner that is specific to a device manufactured by Koehler, but other equipment exists that can otherwise meet the method criteria. It was agreed that a ballot will be prepared to move the current information regarding the bearing spinner to an Appendix as helpful, but non-mandatory information and replace this in the text with direction to consult the equipment manufacturers directions for proper calibration of the spinner and adding a reference pointing to the appendix so historical information is not lost.
