2.1 The scope of the Committee shall be the formulation of test methods, specifications, guides, practices, terminology, and the dissemination of knowledge dealing with geosynthetics. This would include but not be limited to geotextiles, geogrids, drainage nets, drainage composites, geosynthetic clay liners, geosynthetic erosion control products and sediment retention devices, geosynthetic strips, geofoam and geomembranes.
2.2. The formulation of test methods, specifications, guides, practices and terminology for Geosynthetic related products shall be considered by the Committee by establishment of special subcommittees approved by the Executive Subcommittee.
2.3 The work of this Committee will be coordinated with other ASTM committees or organizations having mutual interest.
cyclic plate loading; traffic benefit ratio; TBR; rut; geosynthetics; pavement testing; performance
Although cyclic plate load (CPL) tests are becoming more popular, there is currently no standard for conducting these tests to characterize performance of geosynthetics. This test method will help establish procedures so that CPL tests are done in a proper and unified manner.
The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
