New Practice for to Quantify the Performance Characteristics of Reflectance of Roof Coatings

1. Scope

to develop a reflectance performance standard for all roof coatings. The project scope is to develop a new standard, from the ground up, that will utilize 2 existing ASTM Standards to Quantify the Performance characteristics of the reflectance of roof coatings and establish a reflective performance standard. This task group is being established in lieu of the United States Environmental Protection Agency discontinuing their Energy Star Program for reflective roof coatings. I have attached the EPAs recent correspondence indicating their current activities. See below. Furthermore, I have also attached 2 existing ASTM standards, D 7897 and E 1918, as the two foundational standards that will be used to begin the Task Force Process.
